This is my second spa. My first purchase was a Hot Spring hot tub 5 years ago.
We had a problem with the tub and it started to freeze. I then realized the tub being full of foam was
now working against me. I tried everything, but could not get heat to the pipes and they cracked.
The damage was such, I could not justify the outlandish estimate I received from that service company.
The difference between the 2 spas is night and day. This I imagine is partially due to technology changes.
I was initially afraid of all of the electronic controls and circuit boards,
but I can say now that I am very happy with my new spa (Fall 2009).
The sculpted seats with tons of jets are truely awesome. I was initially sold on the quality of the Maax spa,
and I can say that it has lived up to my expectations. Our dealer was very nice and we have not had a single problem with the spa.
Compared to our old spa, this spa is a dream.
The 481 model spa we choose has 2 motors and more than enough jets.
One thing you will learn after you have had a spa for as long as us, jets are the end all / be all of hot tubbing.
We thought we lived happily with 11 jets for the last 5 years. I usually sit with the jets on for 15 minutes and then shut them down to low speed and just soak for a bit.
There are many brands of hot tubs out there and I can say that I would definitely recommed a Maax, and I would purchase one again.
